Three Things to Do After You Close Escrow

Closing escrow on your home is an exciting event. But, make sure you take time out of rejoicing for a few steps that will protect you and your family. You’ll be grateful later if you do these three things now:

1. Re-key the locks in your home. It is the only way to know for sure that you are the only ones who have access to your home. The prior owners may have given keys to any number of people and you do not want those floating around.

2. Make an appointment in your calendar for 345 days after closing to contact your home warranty company. Put the customer service number in your notation.

3. Add another appointment to your calendar to check the work of the termite company 345 days after closing. Make sure that all wood serviced looks good and that there are not any problems.
